Kameko Shibata and Kanami Anderson are back with a comprehensive vinyasa teacher training through the Ayurvedic lens, with a strong emphasis on how to lead, teach, and embody yoga in your every day life.
This is a 24-day Teacher Training in Puerto Escondido, Mexico, combining 2 TT curriculums and 9 cumulative years of TT experience.
This training will prepare you to deepen your practice and understanding of yoga, embark on a teaching journey, or further your current yoga teaching education.
This training is focused strongly on Anatomy, Alignment, Teaching Methodology, woven together with the Philosophy of the Yoga Sutras and grounded in the Five elements of Ayurveda. The curriculum will guide you to craft your classes around elemental sequencing with a set all level vinyasa sequence that allows you to cultivate your authentic voice and creativity. The training will be lead by Kanami and Kameko, with morning vinyasa and evening restoratives practices. Occasionally classes will be lead by other highly qualified teachers at Jardin Ganesha including vinyasa, yin, restorative, sound healing and kirtan.

This teacher training in La Punta, Puerto Escondido, Oaxaca, Mexico. This training is non-residential, geared for students with their own accommodations or for folks already living locally, There are ample accomdations near by for all ranges and budgets allowing you to find a place that meets your unique needs.

Our curriculum is Yoga Alliance approved, and upon graduation you are eligible to become a Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT) with the largest international nonprofit association representing the yoga community.

Meet Your Instructors
Kanami Anderson
Kanami has been guiding people out of their comfort zones and into wild new places for almost two decades. She became a dedicated yoga practitioner in 2001, but mainly focused on river raft guiding until 2010 when she finally completed her Level 1 Yoga Teacher Training. Soon after she opened up a yoga studio in the ski town of Niseko in Northern Japan and named it Powder Yoga. Now Powder Yoga is a busy studio which she recently sold and moved her life to Puerto Escondido, Mexico. She is the lead trainer of her Yoga Alliance accredited Yoga School, and is also trained in instructing Mat Pilates, Diet and Nutrition, and Traditional Thai Massage.
Kameko Shibata
Kameko is an ERYT-500 Yoga Teacher, Ayurvedic Practitioner, Massage Therapist, professional aerialist and wild creature. She holds a Master of Arts in Ayurveda from Mount Madonna Institute, with 10 years of clinical practice in Ayurvedic counseling and massage therapy. She is honored to practice and teach Yoga in the Krishnamacharya tradition of vinyasa krama for more than 15 years. She brings an international and inclusive lens to her offerings, being of Japanese and European descent, raised in rural northern California, and having studied Yoga and Ayurveda in India, and taught extensively in the Bay Area, CA for a decade. She currently resides and teaches in person (and online) in Puerto Escondido, Oaxaca, México.
Daily sample schedule
7:30-8:30am- morning meditations 4x per week (other mornings off)
9:00-10:30am- morning vinyasa practice (meditation, pranayama, mantra, flow) lead by Kameko, Kanami or Jardin Ganesha teachers
10:30-12:00pm - brunch + break , brunch provided onsite
12:00-2:00pm- lecture (philosophy, Anatomy, Ayurveda with Kameko or Kanami)
2:00-4:00pm- afternoon lunch + nap break (lunch not provided, you can leave to eat an ample restaurants around or cook in the onsite kitchen )
4:00-6:00pm - principles of teaching (asana lab, practice teaching, alignment, adjustments, elemental sequencing with Kameko or Kanami)
6:30-8:00pm- evening yoga class 4x per week with guest teachers teachers (including yin, kirtan and restorative). Other evenings off
